I am in two minds as to whether to advertise this or not....I kind of think I'd like to be going (and therefore staying at Hilgar)! However, in the spirit of promoting the fabulous-ness that I keep discovering about Ballarat, I will share this amazing event that I have just stumbled upon. On Saturday 18 January, 2014 Ballarat will host the Ballarat Beer Festival. Nine hours of live entertainment, craft beer tastings, gourmet food stalls and entertainment suitable for all ages and situated at the beautiful City Oval, just across from Lake Wendouree.

On Friday 6 December 2013, Sovereign Hill are hosting a shopping night. A free event from 6-8.30pm. There will be face painting, music, festivities and gifts.  And accommodation is still available at Hilgar.
