SO WHAT HAVE WE BEEN DOING WITH OUR TIME?
After a short career in teaching, Rebekah enrolled at RMIT, wanting to move into an area that she was passion about.
Completing Interior Design and Decoration in 2000, Rebekah went on to work in the interiors industry where she gained experience across many areas: soft furnishings, furniture manufacturing and supply, product selection, home renovations, spatial layouts and project management.
Her last position before taking maternity leave in 2007, was at an international supplier of high-end furniture and product, a role that saw her travelling interstate to work with firms on medium-large commercial and residential projects.
Rebekah has since had two children and while happily taking on this new role, was eager to return to work in some capacity. While working on small residential projects, Rebekah & her husband Anthony, decided to undertake the task of renovating their Ballarat investment property, turning it into holiday guest accommodation. Hilgar of Ballarat opened in September 2013.
Having grown very fond of the region and the beautiful historic homes, Rebekah, looking for an opportunity to work more in Ballarat, launched Hilgar Design.
She brings with her, many years of varied interior experience, a love of Ballarat and the goldfields region and a desire to help people create a home for them.
