This coming Sunday, 26 May 2013 there is a walk around Sovereign Hill to raise money for the Fiona Elsey Cancer Research Institute. A great thing to get invloved in. For more details go to: http://www.sovereignhill.com.au/visit/Make_Cancer_History_Walk/
Whilst the red may have been enjoyed last night, the rake got a work out today. Piles and piles of beautiful Autumn leaves.
Whilst the renovation is still very much mid-way, we were able to move some things into the house over the weekend. At least enough to have our first glass of red & test out the comfort of the wing backs. Here's a sneak peak:
There is something quite whimsical yet sentimental about a vintage poster. Often, the shear nature of their age means they have a history, that they've been admired, perhaps even loved before. And quite possibly, they've found themselves in several locations; restaurants, retail spaces, public homes and so on. But, unlike other art forms, as they are fundamentally pieces of advertising, there is always something fun, carefree, a playful element and even something mischievous about a vintage poster. Hilgar is inheriting this much loved vintage poster from our home. The colours, the glint in the man's eyes and of course that cute scruffy dog will be missed but hopefully enjoyed by many others over the coming years. For information and a great selection of authentic vintage posters go to Galerie Montmarte. http://www.galeriemontmartre.com/Default.aspx |
