![]() A lovely weekend at Hilgar with the renovation almost complete, allowing us a little time to relax and enjoy the work that's been done over the last few months. We also got the gas log fire up and running. Perfect for a cold winter's night. Over the coming week or two, Hilgar will be listed on Stayz.com. We'll post a notification on our blog but for all inquiries please send an email to here.

From a jigsaw of boxes and flat-packs to the finished product. We love our new kitchen and forever grateful to #talentedcleverpersistentdad Quite some time ago (years infact) I spotted this wrought iron sign, loved it and bought it for my husband. Thankfully he loved it too. Up until we had children, it has been on display some way or another in our home. Once our babies came along, it sat under my desk, often used as a handy foot rest! When we embarked on this project, we decided early on that we'd call the house Hilgar - we just needed to figure out how we were going to 'hang' it so that it was primarily safe. Or rather, those of us under it, safe! Thanks to our clever friend at Filippone Constructions, 'Hilgar' is not only safely placed but is located in the heart of the home where it can be enjoyed by all who visit. You even get a sneak peak of it as you enter the front door. I think I have fallen for it all over again. Yesterday I finally had time to pop into a cafe I've been spying for a few weeks. Vegas & Rose is a delightful little space with delicious treats, good coffee and a selection of toasties using locally made bread and produce. Daily specials are also on offer. Displays of sweet little treasures and gift cards are for sale too. They've even catered for children, with a selection of toys on offer while parents enjoy their fare with, if but a moment's, peace. With the sun streaming through the windows, a miner's cottage and a mountain as my view, I am thrilled that I finally popped in! vegasandrose.com.au |
